I am a graduate of English and German, with a BA thesis on Hemingway’s short fiction (2011). In 2016, I graduated from the American Studies MA program, with a thesis dealing with Jewish-American literature. This proved to be a precursor to my PhD research, which explored the autobiographical writings of four American authors with Jewish origins (Gerda Lerner, Letty Cottin-Pogrebin, Alfred Kazin, Norman Podhoretz). I publicly defended my doctoral thesis, Intersecting Identities. Explorations of the Self in Jewish-American Autobiographical Writing, in June 2021, and received a Summa cum laude distinction. I am currently a junior lecturer in the English Department, whose career aspirations include specializing in teaching and researching in the fields of literature and cultural studies.
